Daughter of Design is considered the designer boutique hotel of event planners recognized for its downtown approach to classic traditions, always creating current and tasteful designs. “Banquet” is a dirty word to these stylish planners who cater to the discerning clientele. Listed in Harper Bazaar’s Top Planners of the World, the top 20 industry MVP’s by The Knot, as well as their “Best of Weddings” and “The Knot Wed 100,” Daughter of Design has also been handpicked as one of the top luxury planners in NYC, LA, and South Florida by Style Me Pretty‘s Little Black Book and as a “Top Planner” by Martha Stewart Weddings. Daughter of Design planned the 1st New Year’s Eve wedding in Times Square, 14 Valentine’s Day weddings atop the Empire State Building, and the 2012 Fall Knot Gala.

The daughter of an interior designer, Annie Lee is the principal planner and founder of Daughter of Design, author of Learn to Speak Wedding: Flashcards for Beginners and contributor to The Wedding A to Z. Lee is recognized as a “Love Guru” and “The Wedding Doctor” by Refinery29, “the wedding doyene” and expert by Brides Magazine, “The Party Planner” by New York Magazine Weddings, “celebrity entertaining expert” by People Magazine and Shape Magazine’s “Woman in Action – Entertaining Expert.” She has been a speaker at Engage! Summit and The Knot Workshop. Annie is constantly at the vanguard of wedding and event style, fashion and design, combining her dual strengths in organization and imagination to keep Daughter of Design events personal and unforgettable. Annie is originally from Palos Verdes, CA but spent several years coordinating events both in Northern and Southern California. She received her degree in History from the University of California, Berkeley and lived in the Bay Area working in the Special Events department of the San Francisco Opera and as a lead planner for a distinguished Northern Californian wedding coordinator. Annie has since relocated to the East Coast where she has been busy working with such companies as the Tribeca Film Festival, Gen Art Film Festival, BizBash, ASMALLWORLD and has worked on events for the Academy Awards ® and the royal family of Qatar. Annie Lee was proud to have been selected as the founding Event Chair on the NYC board of the nonprofit organization, Wish Upon a Wedding.
